I can't get enough of the mustangs in Utah! I haven't seen as many as I saw last year, mainly due to the BLM roundup, but they are still there and on the occasions I can get out I've managed to come up with a few nice images. This trip was no different. A friend of mine and I went out for a peak and I managed to come up with some keepers. The temperatures were such that I had long underwear and a warm sweater under my winter coat along with gloves and a knit hat to keep my ears from freezing and falling off of my head. It was a good thing because we spent a lot of time out of the truck chasing these wary critters around the desert. It was not easy as they were not letting us get too close as they were constantly on the run. You don't think too much about it while you are after the perfect photograph. It's when they finally give you the slip and you turn around to see the truck is little more than a dot far off in the distance. With no pictures to take, you feel all the pain on the walk back! Welll we saw 8 horses in a couple of small groups, but that's OK. One day we'll see the herds again, but until then photographing them in small numbers is still fun. Love those mustangs!
