We have had so much fun over the years photographing children with Santa Claus and creating Santa art for parents to display in their homes. But it doesn't come without a little pressure. When you are booking children between 6 months and 3 years old you are never really sure what is going to happen. This child was 11 months old. I photographed her in November of 2021. She would turn 1 on Christmas day of that year and since my birthday is Christmas eve, having her in was a little special for me. When the family arrived we spent a bit of time talking. A couple of her great-grandparents had come along. After the baby was dressed in her cute little night gown we began. It turned into another Christmas miracle for Santa and I. That little baby gave me beautiful poses appropriate for each scene. She had the perfect look for a Christmas photograph. Her plump rosy cheeks and her beautiful attentive eyes had me thinking this child was a million dollar baby and I knew I would be getting a boatload of lovely pictures. In retrospect I thought that was a bit odd because I took the least amount of photographs that I have ever taken during a storybook Santa session. I didn't need to go overboard because I was getting exactly what I wanted from her pretty much right off the bat. That is not to say I don't love all of the children I've photographed over the years, because I have. It has been a wonderful experience and I have loved them all. Maybe a Christmas eve photographer and a Christmas day baby just shared a connection people born the rest of the year just don't share. Whatever the reason, when I look at these images, I can't help thinking she's a million dollar baby!
