Maybe I'm the only dad who doesn't really like going to his daughter's ballet recital. Don't get me wrong, I love my youngest and she was cute as a button, by watching little girls jumping around on stage is not really my thing. But I went along, doing my fatherly duty, and preparing to be bored for an hour. But the event didn't quite turn out the way I expected and it drove me to tears. That little 6-year-old was good. I mean she was really good. It blew me away. I could see her getting frustrated with the other two girls who were more like what I was expecting to see. (They were a threesome who did everything together, ballet being one of them and taught by a gal in the neighborhood.) It would turn out that not only could this kid dance, she would go on to sing with a marvelous voice, and play the guitar. Hey, you never know, and this young lady keeps surprising me. As for the photography, this image was a candid photo taken with my old Canon 5D. Not near the quality or the equipment I use today. but still being used today my this particular daughter.
