This year I started teaching photography for American Heritage School, a private school in American Fork Utah. I’ve always thought it would be fun to teach photography to high school age kids so I took the opportunity when it came along. But it’s not the teaching I want to talk about, it’s the school. First of all the teachers and staff are always upbeat and helpful. What I really like is they are teaching the children about the foundations of this great country and its constitution. Last week they held Constitution day and celebrated with an outdoor fair. There were booths, food trucks, music, and speeches. The event ended with a rather impressive fireworks show and that’ what I went to photograph. The following image is a composite of some of the shots I took. Each shot was taken with a wide angle lens set at 15mm, ISO 100, 5 seconds, at f/16. My finished image was processed in Capture One Pro and finished off in Adobe Photoshop. I call it “The Grand Finally.”
