One of the most difficult requirements of our job when kids come to visit can be pulling great expressions out of them. It’s not that they don’t smile or are unhappy with Santa it’s that we are looking for something different. We want exaggerated expression, the type you might see in some of Norman Rockwell’s paintings! We want exaggerated expressions that tell the story of children in the presence of Santa’s magic! But that is not always easy. We work with children of all ages. We work with shy children, outgoing children, children who are scared, some who for whatever reason seem barely able to muster a small smile. Sometimes bringing them out of their shell can be tiring. But in the case of these two boys our job was pretty easy. They gave us the kinds of expressions that would tug at any parent’s heart. They made our job easy and we loved every minute of our time with them.
