I'm writing this blog in advance. By the time you read it I will be at the UVU Field station in Capital Reef National Park outside of Torrey, Utah. I'm teaching a three-day landscape photography class at the facility. The photographs included here were taken during a trip to the park at the beginning of March. I stopped in after a trip to Kanab to scout things out for the class. Unfortunately the road into the field station was closed due to melting snow and mud. But I was able to get a few interesting images around Capital Reef. My goal is to spark some creative juices in the students who attend the class. When I was out creating photographs I did not find spectacular sunsets or sunrises. Many of these are shot close to noon. But what I want to convey to the people I teach is that once you develop competency and the ability to "see", it is possible to create good images anytime, anywhere! The best thing you can do is go out and create lots and lots of photographs. And that, folks, is my plan!
