I was working on an image for tomorrow's post and began to wonder if anyone was tired of seeing the same old mountain for the third or fourth time. The mountains in question circle around the north and east side out our small bedroom community. I've spent a lot of time over the last few years, if not longer, capturing the mountains in all kinds of weather - if I can see them. Many times the view is obscured by low hanging clouds and fog. I'm often out before sunrise and after sunset; in the middle of thunderstorms, rain, and snow; as the storms are rolling in or clearing out; and sometimes in the middle of the day when the clouds are such that light and shadows play of the mountain sides. It's all good if the light is right. Light is so important to creating a beautiful image. It is affected by the weather. Clouds play a role on composition, interest, and how the light is allowed to filter through to light up the mountain peaks. Of course a new blanket of snow can add its own beauty and interest. My point here is the same old mountain is constantly changing and every image created of it is far from the same the same old photograph.
