Fall is in the air and the leaves in the mountain leaves are starting to turn golden yellows and bright reds. There is also change in the air as we begin to assemble the 2021 Santa Experience workshop. I’ve felt the need for two different sets in our Santa Experience portrait sessions just to add a bit of variety. We took down the temporary wall we had put up to create a border around the previous set. Last month we replaced the entire floor. The old floor was a red wood color and added lots of red to an already red set. I decided to go with an antique gray. I did the work myself so it took a couple of weeks between other commitments. A sketch I made earlier in the year provide us with the direction we needed . There will be a fireplace scene on one side of the studio and a workshop scene on the other. A Christmas tree to divide the two sets. We had to make sure we could photograph the two areas separately. Next the lighting had to be tested. Moving the two side lights off of the wall mounts and putting them on floor stands better positioned them for even lighting. Our initial testing looks good and we will start the formal decorating over the next two weeks. We are so excited for this year’s Santa season to begin and being able to vary the story more will make it that much more fun! Change is in the air and we can hardly wait!
