You know the science, an object in motion tends to remain in motion. That was me on this day. I passed by this young lady still in motion on my way somewhere. Then It kicked in and I stopped. I told my wife I wanted to photograph this young lady we had just passed. I turned around and walked back. She glanced up at me and I motioned to my camera. She understood I wanted to take her picture and she nodded that it was OK. She reminded me of a famous portrait of an afghan girl, Sharbat Gula, taken by Steve McCurry, a photojournalist. It had appeared on the cover of National Geographic years ago. McCurry's portrait was stunning and I am no way comparing my portrait to his. This gal simply reminded me of his image. I wish I had had more time, but I am very cognoscente of their time. After I created the portrait I showed it to her on the back of the camera. She smiled, and in English said,"Beautiful." I smiled back and departed. I'm grateful I took the moment to create this "beautiful" Portrait of this stunning young lady. Another intimate Italian portrait in the "can."
